Dr. Frank Scolinos, OD is a highly respected optometrist and one of a select group chosen to serve as an ambassador for VSP Vision Service Plan. He has been providing advanced, patient-centered eye care to the South Bay community for nearly three decades. Dr. Scolinos earned his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He further advanced his clinical expertise through a research fellowship at the University of Houston College of Optometry. He is an active member of the California Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the South Bay Optometric Society. Throughout his career, Dr. Scolinos has served on multiple professional committees, including Peer Review and Quality Assurance Committees for Cambridge Vision Services, PacifiCare Vision, and Superior Vision Services.
Dr. Scolinos has participated in numerous clinical studies with leading ophthalmic and contact lens manufacturers, including Inspire Pharmaceuticals, Alcon, CIBA Vision, CooperVision, Bausch + Lomb, and Vistakon, among others. He currently provides consulting services for Alcon and played an integral role in the marketing and fitting of Air Optix Colors contact lenses within the beauty and fashion industries. Certified in the treatment and management of glaucoma, Dr. Scolinos incorporates the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies in ophthalmic and contact lens care. Inlay, refractive lens exchange, and post-cataract intraocular lens options. His clinical expertise includes advanced fitting of multifocal and bifocal contact lenses, as well as specialty contact lenses for keratoconus, aphakia, post-corneal transplant patients, and corneal ectasia.
